  • Naturopathic medicine is a system of healthcare that is completely centered around the patient. Naturopathic doctors believe that if you establish the necessary conditions for the body to function properly or rather the “conditions for health” the body has an innate ability to heal itself.

The pillars of naturopathic medicine which all NDs practice by are as follows:

    1. The Healing Power of Nature (Vis Medicatrix Naturae) - ND’s recognize an inherent self healing ability and value the ordered and intelligent function of the body and the immune system that nature has given us.

    2. Identify and Treat the Causes (Tolle Causam) - ND’s play the role of detective to establish the root cause of illness rather than simply treating and suppressing symptoms that provide clues.

    3. First Do No Harm (Primum Non Nocere) - ND’s utilize a specific therapeutic order when making choices on the best way to handle a case. ND’s aim to utilize methods with least force possible and minimize the risk of harm.

    4. Doctor as Teacher (Docere) - ND’s find it important to make lasting change through teaching their patient’s everything they can. We do not want you to need us forever. We want to teach you how to be responsible for your own health and tend to the needs of your own body.

    5. Treat the Whole Person - ND’s take into account everything about a person when coming up with the best plan for them. We often ask questions from as early on as when your mother conceived you. We want to know every piece of the puzzle to come up with the most comprehensive plan to remove dis-ease in the body.

    6. Prevention - ND’s emphasize the prevention of dis-ease in the future by optimizing lifestyle, nutrition and so much more.

  • It is vital to establish the difference between a licensed naturopathic doctor (ND) and a naturopath. ND’s attend a 4+ year graduate level program accredited by the department of education. They receive education of the same level as medical doctors in academic areas including but not limited to human anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, pathology and more. However, naturopathic doctors also learn homeopathy, botanical medicine, nutritional biochemistry and nutritional counseling, other world medicine systems and more. ND’s complete a 1200 hour clinical internship while in medical school. Naturopathic doctors must pass two challenging licensing exams (NPLEX 1 and NPLEX 2) to qualify for application for licensure.

Naturopath’s are not doctors and do not receive the same rigorous and accredited medical training. These individuals have often taken part in an online certificate program.

  • Functional medicine is an evolution of naturopathic medicine that uncovers hidden imbalances by analyzing your lab work through a more optimal lens than traditional Western medicine. If you’ve ever felt sick, fatigued, or out of balance—only to have your doctor say your labs are “normal”—functional medicine can help identify the underlying issues that standard tests and their set reference range often miss. The result? A personalized, science-based approach to healing.

  • Lab testing will be decided on and discussed with you in you first visit based by each case. Alongside conventions blood testing we often utilize: nutrigenetics testing, micronutrient panels, advanced microbiome testing and stool analysis , food sensitivity testing, hormone metabolite testing and more.

  • We are a cash-based practice, allowing us to spend the time needed to truly understand your health and create a personalized plan.
